Lime in the Coconut
Lauren at Red Robin – she liked my berry limeade. She especially wanted to dig out the ice and suck on the limes. This video wasn’t her first taste, either.

Koreans
Ji Young’s parents sent us some beautiful gifts – Daddy got a wallet, Mommy got a silky scarf, and Peyton and Lauren received beautiful Korean dress clothes. At first Peyton wasn’t very fond of the pink pants, but we explained that pink-hate is an American thing, and all Korean boys wear these clothes. He reluctantly put them on, but quickly grew fond of them and didn’t want to change his clothes when it was time for dinner.
Lauren’s dress is SO beautiful, but she’s got some growing to do!
And a pic of daddy snuggling with baby girl, who won’t be a baby for much longer

Sour Apples
Lauren acts like she’s gagging whenever I give her baby food, but she LOVES being able to feed herself. Baby food isn’t a problem for her as long as SHE’s holding the spoon. Here she was SO proud of herself for holding her own apple slices. Her single tiny tooth wasn’t make much of a dent in the apple so I didn’t have to worry about choking. It was the perfect treat…or it would have been if it wasn’t so sour! But Lauren was willing to overlook this as long as she got to hold the apples herself.
Meanwhile, Peyton and Ji Young wrestle on the couch.
Countdown to CA: 3 days to go!

Growing Up
They’re growing again!
On Friday morning I caught Lauren trying to feed her baby doll a bottle. Of course, she followed that imitation by sticking the bottle in her own mouth, but I was quite impressed that she was already imitating our behavior (although I don’t think I jam the bottle into Will’s mouth quite that hard).
Peyton hit every boy’s milestone this morning.
P: “Mom, I want a pet.”
Mommy: “We have the kitty.”
P: “I want a dog.”
M: “Daddy wants to get you a dog when you can help take care of it.”
P: “I can take care of it!”
M: “You would have to pick up it’s poop.”
P: [pause] “I wouldn’t do that.”
At least he is honest with himself
Sleep update: Lauren’s been waking up for a while – Friday night she woke up 4 times. Last night, I decided I was going to be more stubborn than she is, so I sat over her crib when she woke up at 12:20 and rubbed her back while she stood in her crib and cried. She walked back and forth in her crib, crying most of the time, for about an hour. She fell to sitting once, but got back up again. The second time she fell down, I laid her on her tummy. She got up onto all fours, then gave up, laid her head down and went to sleep, almost an hour after she woke up.
I was SO proud.
I was double proud when she woke up at 5, but soothed herself back to sleep before Daddy could make it to her bedroom. Our hour-long standoff was all it took!
She woke up at 7:30, and when Daddy brought her into our room, I second-guessed my feelings of success. One of her legs was missing…or maybe misplaced is a better word. Her right leg was stuck up inside the belly section of her jammies. This must have happened after I left her, because I know her legs were in their normal locations when I left her sleeping at 1:30.
So tonight, I’m debating on whether I should sit next to her crib again if she wakes up, or maybe I should just hog tie her so she can’t stand up when she wakes.

I discovered a way to make things a bit safer for us in the bloggy world. In a couple weeks, I’ll be updating our blog to password-protect. If you are reading this, you won’t be able to read this anymore once I update unless you create a login. Just wanted to give a heads up!

Bad hair day…and you might even be able to see her tooth…
Caught red-handed.
Peyton’s masterpieces: on the top, mommy driving the car. The blue spot on the left is our home, and the darkish spot underneath is a butterfly.
The second picture is of Uncle Tyler playing Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core. Tyler is the big purple-headed smiley guy. He’s holding the yellow wii-motes with classic controller attached. Zach and a pokemon are on the television – notice the antenna on the top and the black speakers on the sides? The blue person is “mom” – grandma – and she’s jumping. She’s also wearing headphones for her ipod and a hat. The red person is Papa, the brown one is Uncle Ryan, and notice baby Lauren on the floor, crawling? Peyton is the blob next to the baby.
Here is Lauren in the middle of her favorite past-time – watching out the back window. She’s currently watching daddy rake leaves. The other is a pic of her looking adorable in holiday attire.
Here’s a great close-up of her bad hair day…don’t miss her beautiful eyes.
Here’s a pic of Ji Young and Lauren watching TV in the morning before school.
And Peyton’s favorite face: the crazy one. He’s ruined more nice family photos that way…

More pics
It seems like we’ve done tons of pics lately, but we had to run in today to get a Christmas shot. Click here for the results https://www.searsphotos.com/?shareid=S206520850lMN4WG3YEHF
Unfortunately, Sears isn’t as nice as the picture people, who willingly (and freely) gave us the rights to reproduce our family picture into the 4×6 prints that you still have on your fridge from 2 years ago. No, Sears sells the rights to one picture for $25. That’s not a CD with one pic on it; that’s just a piece of paper saying we can scan and print the prints we bought. I was actually really disappointed because I really thought Sears would do the same as the Picture People. Oh well – at the least, we got some great shots of our family!
(Don’t worry – our copy is cropped in to cut off the bottom space)
We also got a few cute pics of Daddy and the kids.
